Evidence based impact

Significant savings in drug expenditure across a large health network

Thompson J. Multisite implementation of an electronic antimicrobial approval system. Proceedings of the Australian Society of Antimicrobials Conference. Available from: ASA Portal.

Reduced use of 3rd & 4th generation cephalosporins,
glycopeptides, carbapenems,
aminoglycosides & quinolones

Improved antimicrobial
susceptibility patterns for ICU Gram-negative isolates, including Pseudomonas

Reduced broad-spectrum antimicrobial use with a Guidance-led antimicrobial stewardship program

Adaptable to varying degrees of digital transformation

Compatible with Electronic Medical Record systems such as Cerner and Epic

Compatible with pharmacy systems

Suitable for non-electronic medical record (paper-based) services

Successfully implemented with multiple antimicrobial stewardship models

Single site setup
